| Calgary is on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountain foothills at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. Our city was originally established as a fort in 1875 by the North West Mounted Police, and officially named after Calgary Bay on Scotland's Isle of Mull in 1876. |
