Aspen Woods is relatively new to the area established in 2001 with many new home developments. Aspen Woods, Christie Park and Strathcona are located on an elevated plateau that allows for outstanding views of Calgary and the Elbow and BowRiverValley. Residents have access to Edworthy Park (complete with bike trails and a long toboggan hill), GlendaleAthleticPark and WestsideRecreationalCenter. Some community centre offers programs such as teen dances to Tai Chi for seniors to Spanish language classes to their Child’s Garden Preschool. The community has a hockey and pleasure skating rink as well as a soccer field. The easiest way to downtown is Glenmore Trail to Macleod Trail or head to the mountains via Sarcee Trail to the Trans Canada.
