| One of Calgary’s inner city oldest communities, Bankview offers panoramic views of downtown. Home to the Calgary Tennis Club, close to the Bow River recreational pathways and an outdoor pool that is a short distance away on 14th Street. Both the Richmond Green and the Shaganappi golf courses are close by. For other activities, experience Live theatre at the Pumphouse or take a stroll on the Bow River Pathway. The surrounding communities include: Scarboro, a high-end inner city community, similar to Mount Royal that is squeezed between 12 Avenue and 17 Avenue. More expensive houses sit higher on the hill, toward Crowchild Trail. Less expensive homes and low-rise apartments are crowded close to 14th Street along 11th and 12th Avenue. Bankview lies on the south side of 17th Avenue, and is quite hilly. The area has a mix of single-family homes, inexpensive apartments and some expensive "San Fransicso style" condominiums. |
