Since the eastern edge of the community is part of the city’s pathway system, Westgate has great access to the neighbouring Rosscarrok community. The two communities use each others fields for sporting events and share a paved outdoor skating rink as well as a playground. The community association is affiliated with Tri-West Soccer and Trails West hockey and has access to two golf courses, one on each end of the community. The Westbrook Mall and Richmond Square, which is kitty-corner to Westhills Shopping Centre, are where residents meet their retail needs.
