In Southwest Calgary, just north of Fish Creek Provincial Park, east of 24th street, and south of Anderson Road, you will find the community of Woodlands. A large section of the Woodlands community is comprised of the Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club. In the northwest corner of the community is a large parcel of land currently occupied by the William Roper Hull Child and Family Services. William Roper was a prominent rancher in the area before it was developed and bequeathed his land for this purpose.

Woodlands community has established schools and many green spaces like Woodview Park and Woodlands Park. Fish Creek Provincial Park borders Woodlands to the south and links to the Bow River Pathway system. The Glenmore reservoir is also not far. The recreational opportunities, therefore, are numerous. Shopping centers like the Southcentre Mall, and the Anderson Station LRT are also not far from the community. Buffalo Run Golf Course is close by and west of 37 Street SW.

Much of the area was developed during the 1980’s construction boom but development in some areas began as early as 1974. Given the established schools in the area and the plethora of amenities close by, Woodlands homes include a wide selection of properties in the mid to higher price ranges. The area consists mainly of single family homes with some condo townhomes also present. There are also a number of affordable starter homes in the community. Woodlands is a great community for families and first time home buyers.
